Harvesting Healing Through Blogging
As humans we have daily struggles and it is our struggles that make us human.
~ Karen Esbenshade
As an imperfect human my growth has been spurred on by a life event, because I chose to ignore my struggles. Instead of choosing to look inward and identify the source of the problem, which was ME, I placed blame on society and the people around me. The end result was to numb my discomfort and quell my anxieties with that one glass of wine. By the grace of God I was able to unearth my flaws and seek forgiveness. Through sharing with others I was able to accept my flawed self and learn I did not need to suffer alone. The result peace, from a loving God, not the spirit in the bottle.
SIX months into my blog creation, I am an accomplished blogger. While for many this chore seems simple, I have struggled through the entire journey. And, sadly, what hindered my accomplishment was ME!
It wasn’t I wasn’t capable, but I chose to allow my frustrations to take root and hinder my growth. It wasn’t until I was messaging with a professional, that I committed myself to setting a goal to accomplish my task. The goal setting created more frustration because I allowed my lack of patience to hinder my growth. Through voicing this frustration with a group of ladies, I made a bold statement, “I wasn’t trusting in God and praying for His guidance to walk me through my blogging journey.” Within a week, one step at a time, being present and faithful, I created my blog.

During times I encounter challenges in my life, fear is the obstacle which keeps me from overcoming the challenge. The fear that I am not capable, when I am; the fear I am not good enough, when I know I should not compare myself to others; and the fear of failure, once I create a blog will anyone actually care! Fear is debilitating. It will paralyze us, keeping us in bondage.
To break free of the bondage and face my fear I had to surrender it to my higher power. Choosing to trust in God, prayerfully move ahead, I was able to succeed.
Don’t let fear hinder your dreams. Trust in God and commit to an accountability partner. Take one step at a time and enjoy the journey!
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”
